Hollow bar nails

Hollow bar nails consist of three main components: the nail head, the steel tension or compression member – including coupling and sacrificial drill bit – and the grout body.

The steel tension or compression member is designed as a hollow bar with cold-rolled continuous thread, allowing it to be cut or coupled at any desired position.

Structure

Hollow bar nails consist of three main components:

  • Nail head

  • Steel tension member – including coupling and sacrificial drill bit

  • Grout body

The steel tension member is designed as a hollow bar with cold-rolled continuous thread, allowing it to be cut or coupled at any desired position.

Properties

  • Excellent adaptability to transport and installation conditions through delivery in sectional lengths with coupler connections

  • Wide range of drill bits enables use in a variety of soil conditions

  • Easy on-site length adjustment, for example in varying geological conditions, by using sectional lengths with coupler connections

  • Excellent bond between the SHS bar and cement grout due to the threaded rib profile

  • High adaptability to required loads through a wide range of available cross-sections

  • Fast construction progress through drilling, installation and grouting of the pile in a single operation

Construction variants

  • Temporary nail

  • Short-term nail (service life up to 2 years)

  • Permanent nail, hot-dip galvanized, taking soil-dependent corrosion rates into account (service life up to 50 years)
