Strand anchors
Structure
Strand anchors consist of three main components:
- Anchor head
- Steel tension member – divided into bonded length and free stressing length
- Grout body
The steel tension member consists of several 7-wire prestressing steel strands.
Properties
- Nationally approved system with internal and external quality control
- Excellent adaptation to required loads through the selection of strand quantity, strand cross-section and steel grade
- Production of large anchor lengths without couplings
- Relatively low self-weight and small diameter
- Excellent installation properties due to the high flexibility of the anchors
- Good transport characteristics thanks to minimal space requirements during transport and storage (anchors are supplied coiled)
Construction variants
- Temporary anchor with removable free stressing length
- Short-term anchor with a service life of up to 2 years
- Short-term anchor for extended temporary use with a service life of 2 to 7 years
- Permanent anchor (service life up to 100 years)
