Ground anchors
Anchors are used whenever large tensile forces need to be transferred into the ground.
Typical applications include the back anchoring of excavation support systems and retaining walls, slope and rock stabilization, as well as the anchoring of bridge abutments and wind turbine towers.
The prestressing force applied hydraulically at the anchor head is transferred through the free stressing length and the grout body into a load-bearing soil layer. The resulting anchor force therefore acts actively on the anchored structure, meaning that no displacement of the structural element is required for the anchor to become effective.
